About Our Camp

June 20-July 1, 2022 (Monday-Friday) from 7:30am-5:30pm at Edgewater Elementary School

Our classic performing arts day camp returns! Join us this summer for a dynamic performing arts day-camp that combines all of your favorite camp activities (such as making s’mores, playing team-building games, making crafts, and more) with enriching classes in the performing arts! Open to students ages 8-14, it operates from 8:00am-5:00pm, with a grace period for drop off (7:30am-8:00am) and a grace period for pick up (5:00pm-5:30pm). In total, our camp is open from 7:30am-5:30pm. You may be asking: with so many camps ending in the afternoon, why do we stay open so late? The answer is simple. We understand the struggles of working parents, and thus want to create camps that are accessible to ALL families.

That may seem like a long day, but each and every minute is jam-packed with classes, activities, and extracurriculars for students to experience while at camp. Here's how it works. Students take three classes in all three areas of the performing arts: music, dance, and theatre. These classes are based on the block scheduling model, which allows students to take longer classes with more time to engage with material.

 

Students learn how to act, sing, and dance along to contemporary songs and material that they know and love, mixed with some new material that they'll discover together! Our teachers are professionals who are passionate about performing arts education, and love to see students reach their potential onstage. Whether your child is already a star, or just wants to get out of their shell, our camp is perfect environment for all ages and experience levels! Our teachers cater classes to the needs and levels of the students they have, and everyone truly has a chance to shine on our stage! 

On top of classes, students participate in fun camp games and activities while at camp. This allows them the opportunity to take mental breaks from classes and engage with their peers! Each camp day has time devoted to a Camp Enrichment Activity, which typically is not related to the performing arts. This can range from decorating camp postcards to making s'mores! 

 

The perfect blend of a fun camp environment and a performing arts intensive, the Summer Arts Academy continues to inspire students to reach their artistic potential while they make new friends and have fun along the way!

Our camp is offered to Yuba-Sutter families at the low cost of $200 ($100 per additional sibling) for 2 weeks of jam-packed fun! In the past, registration for this camp has been on a sliding scale basis. We have since received feedback that our families are interested in one set-price, and thus have worked to develop one that is accessible to families from ALL financial backgrounds. For those who miss the sliding scale structure, don't worry: Rise Up is offering partial scholarships to families who qualify!
