Meet Our Team!
Julian Barkley-Brinson is a current student at California State University, Chico majoring in English Education and Theatre Arts. He has served as Site Lead for the Bridge Street Elementary After School Program, and has directed nearly all of the programs produced by Rise Up, including The Little Mermaid JR. production. He has over 5 years of experience teaching the performing arts to children ages 5-15, and has worked in education, childcare, and recreation over his career. He has over 8 years of experience directing, and has a passion for using musical theatre as a tool to shape the lives of his students. Julian plans on using his English and Theatre Education major to teach art and literacy to middle and high school students. In his spare time, Julian enjoys singing, reading, and playing the violin.
Sarah Hauck is a current student at California State University, Chico majoring in Music Education. She has previously been involved in the technical aspects of theatre, such as lighting design and backstage work, and has taught music at the Paragon Collegiate Academy After School Program. In the future, Sarah plans to use her musical talents to inspire the next generation of artists as a music teacher. In her spare time, Sarah’s hobbies include playing her bass clarinet, piano, ukulele, practicing singing, and crocheting. “My favorite part of teaching is when you see the spark in a child’s eyes as they grasp a concept and become confident in themselves and their own abilities.”
Kevin Anderson graduated in 2020 with a Bachelors in Music from Chico State. He has been teaching in the Chico community for the past 3 years, focusing on choir. In 2017, he participated in Lingua e Canto, an intensive opera program in Italy. In 2019, he won the Young Artists Award with the North State Symphony, and performed as a soloist in Chico, Redding, and Red Bluff. He has been singing in community, church, and university choirs for 15 years in Northern California. Kevin joined the board after serving as the Music Director for our 2022 production of The Lion King. He has a passionate for performing arts education, and loves the mission of this organization. In his free time, he enjoys playing piano, learning languages, and hiking.
Feliciana Barkley-Brinson has a Bachelors of Arts degree in Musical Theatre with a minor in dance from Chico State. In her free time she loves tap dancing. Currently she is working as a performer at Disneyland. Feliciana joined the board after working as a teacher in our 2022 camp season. She has a passion for performing arts education, and her dedication to the organization made her want to assume a role with more leadership.
